Your Bio

Hello to everyone who visits my site! I love taking pictures and many of you have smiled for me in the past and many of you will smile for me in the future. I want to thank my father for his photography inspiration over the last 36 years (my father is a fantastic photographer). Pictures tell a story, provide lots of laughs, and they are a concrete example of a memory. Thank you to all of my subjects and an early thank you to my subjects to come. Des Arc Flooding 2008 : In April 2008, I visited friends in Des Arc, Arkansas. I was absolutely amazed as I drove into town because the town (people, homes, businesses) have been flooded by serious water over the last few weeks. On the drive in, there were times when the water was about 1/2 foot from the road. People are having to boat to their homes, sandbag to prevent more water from coming in, livestock has been lost, snakes are everywhere, people have lost their homes or had severe damage, etc. It is one of the worst acts of nature I have ever seen. Just absolutely hard to describe in words!

B-17 and B-24 : Friday, October 26, 2007 was a historic day. A WW II B-17 and B-24 bomber (the B-24 is the only one of 14,000 B-24's made that is still flying now) flew into the Bessemer airport. The B-17 had the wife of the pilot of the Memphis Belle (she is the older lady in the pictures), an over 80-year old man who had flown the exact B-17 he was on 64 years ago, and my father. My father, retired Air Force, had the opportunity to fly from Huntsville to Bessemer on a B-17 WW II bomber. Watching the two planes land in Bessemer was a fantastic site. The first 20 something pictures were taken by my dad (some during the flight) and the remaining pictures were taken by me. Two of the most beautiful pictures to me are the ones of my father holding his grandson (my nephew) Reece while talking to him about the airplanes. It was a beautiful site to see a 17 month old pointing to the airplanes while my dad was talking to him. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
